March 01, 2010

I always find it a little surprising when what is planned, happens!  This year we bred our goats for kidding to begin on the first of March.  We did this with the hope that in fifteen to thirty days when the grass begins to grow well again, the kids would be old enough to take advantage of it.  We also had in mind the weather is a bit more moderate, and while there may still be freezing nights; the freezing days would be over.  And what do you know?  First of March and the first baby arrived this morning!  And the second is on its way–see a hoof?!
